Winter...
Downhill
Happiest when you have your skis strapped on? Welcome to skiing heaven. Stroll across to Marble Mountain and test the best mountain in Eastern Canada where they regularly get enough natural snow to bury a house. With all this snow and average temperatures that are only slightly below freezing, you can ski in comfort all season. Combine incredible terrain and snow conditions with lift lines that are so short you often hardly have to stop before you head up again.
Exotic Downhill
The mountains surrounding the area are host to canyons and valleys above the tree line. The best way to be the first to carve these remote slopes are with Cat Skiing. Never heard of it? The closest equivalent is Heli-Skiing. You and few fellow snow addicts hop in a modified groomer and wander the mountains in search of the best skiing you will ever experience, and that doesn't even include the incredible views overlooking the Bay of Islands.
X-Country
A fifteen-minute drive in either direction from your doorstep opens the world of cross-country skiing. With immaculately groomed classic and skate ski tracks that wander through the forest, this is a dream for those that understand the pleasure of gliding silently through nature. For those that are intimidated by the thought of hurtling down a hillside, this sport is designed for you. With great instructors you can ease into a new sport. For the experienced there are virtually infinite possibilities for wandering the hills following moose tracks in to backcountry ponds.
Snowmobiling
When the parking lot contains as many snowmobiles as cars, you know you are . The island of Newfoundland has developed the country's best groomed trail network and it is accessible directly from your suite. Snowmobiling has become one of the most popular family sport as it allows you to explore in comfort and enjoy the wildest parts of our province.

Kayaking
The majestic Humber River runs along your back door. With a walkway to the river and a floating dock you can literally walk out your back door and 'hop' into your kayak. Steer yourself in many different directions - take a leisurely paddle down the river through the Humber Valley where the views will take your breath away, go whale watching where the Humber River meets Corner Brook, or for the more adventurous....spend a day with the icebergs and whales - imagine mist-shrouded islands, towering cathedrals of ice, breaching whales, and resettled fishing villages - all to discover in a single day.
Salmon Fishing
With approximately 170 licensed salmon rivers in Newfoundland, you can't leave the area without experiencing the exceptional fishing, especially as the infamous Humber River runs through the back of your property. An annual salmon license costs approximately CAD $80.00 per person per year or CAD $125.00 per family per year. It should be noted that non-residents must be accompanied by a licensed guide or a direct relative who is a resident of the Province while salmon fishing. The cost of a guide is approximately CAD $120 per day. The salmon fishing season runs from June 1st to October 1st. Anglers may start fishing one (1) hour prior to civil sunrise and must finish fishing one (1) hour after sunset.
Boat Tours
Experience the breathtaking beauty of the Humber River at close range. Enjoy nature's tranquility you drift over smooth stretches of water. Watch for wildlife along the banks and keep an eye out for Atlantic Salmon leaping free from the water around you. Travel to the spot where the legendary pirate Peter Easton is said to have buried his treasure and see if you can spot “The Old Man in the Mountain” who is said to be guarding it. Learn of the River’s history, lore and geology from your lively local guide.
River Rafting
Let your cares slip away as you drift effortlessly along winding stretches of pure, still water. Take the time to look around and enjoy the scenery - boreal forested cliffs, fish swimming at your feet and birds soaring above you. A little too relaxed? Wait. What's that ahead? You're in for a treat! Here comes the surf! You'll have so much fun bouncing around in the small, rolling waves that we guarantee you'll let the eddies bring you back up to run them again!
Cave Tours
Explore the world beneath your feet on a unique underground journey through the Corner Brook caves. From large rooms to tiny crevices and vertical walls, we can tailor this adventure to match your thrill threshold.
